"It is very important that the fans know I have the club at heart, and my intention is to move forward because it looks like the administration is just around the corner," al-Khalifa told BBC Radio Leeds.
"At this stage, I cannot say very much more than I said yesterday, that we have the team working, negotiations are ongoing and the consortium is ready if things go according to plan - and that is to hopefully avoid administration.
"That is the main target unlike what some comments have been made that I was waiting for administration.
"I am not a vulture, I am a fan and I have suffered just like all the fans have suffered and I hope to make it work."
