The former Derby & England midfielder has spent 11 months out of action and has yet to start a game under Kevin Blackwell after undergoing cruciate ligament surgery.

Johnson completed his first full 90 minutes in Leeds' friendly with Drogheda in Ireland last weekend and 70 minutes in the reserve game against Newcastle.

He said: "I think I am right to start. That was the most first team football I have played in nearly a year and I know it's not going to come rushing back to me all at once, but I know I can do a lot better.

"I'm hoping the more games I am involved in the quality will come, I can't wait to be involved again."
