Selection Poser For Reid

With Brazilian international Roque Junior, Reid is set to select from a near full strength squad when United resume their Premiership campaign.

Cameroon international Salomon Olembe has impressed in training while French striker Cyril Chapuis played in the reserves on Tuesday night.

Reid is delighted with new additions to his squad, but admits he is facing a selection poser.

"The new players add to the strength of the squad," said Reid.

"Selection headaches are a difficult part of the job, but it's a part you enjoy because it means you've got the players in to select from.

"We've had a good time with the deals we've done and I've been really pleased, not only with the players who've come in, but how they've settled in.

"Maybe it is a bit unexpected that we've got so many quality players coming in, but it's a nice problem to have in terms of having players available to strengthen what we have.

"Roque Junior will be a good signing, Salomon Olembe has come in and Cyril Chapuis played in the reserves on Tuesday so things are coming together.

"The lads have also trained well this week and we're looking forward to the Leicester game on Monday."

Reid is further boosted by the progress being made by his sick list players.

Michael Bridges is in full training, Eirik Bakke is now back at Thorp Arch after undergoing knee surgery and Michael Duberry is two weeks away from a full return.

Reid added: "Things are going well. Bridgey's back in full training, Eirik Bakke's started his re-hab over here and Duberry's a couple of weeks away from starting training again."
