The Cumbrian-born keeper celebrates his 18th birthday today but any celebrations will be put on hold until later.

Although Scott played a few reserve outings last season, his elevation as the reserves first choice keeper also marks a coming of age for the Academy star, who is regarded as the next prospective England keeper to emerge from Elland Road.

He is expected to be on the first team bench too for the Monday night game at Leicester City's new Walker's Stadium on the 15th.

Also playing tonight at Morecambe is Aaron Lennon, fresh from his second first team appearance against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Didier Domi again plays as he is being encouraged to improve his match fitness before being considered for a first team place.

Besides Domi, the young reserves side are all under the age of 20.

United: Carson, McStay, Domi, Keegan, Walton, Constable, Lennon, Woods, McMaster, Winter, Simon Johnson. Subs: Krief, Coyles, Armstrong, Stiens, Gray.

Graeme Souness's latest signing Dino Baggio will make his Blackburn debut at Morecambe's Christie Park ground, 7pm kick-off.

Assistant Blackburn manager Tony Parkes today confirmed the Italian international will start against Leeds.
