As it stands, no deal has been done with 12 hours to go before the transfer deadline.
The Latics are known to have had a bid for the midfielder rejected on Wednesday and Whites head coach Neil Redfearn subsequently said the following day that the 29-year-old would be staying put.
But rumours circulated on Sunday evening that the Jamaica midfielder had signed for Wigan for £500,000 and Sky sources then reported the transfer had been sealed on Monday morning.
A fake Wigan Athletic account also confirmed the move but neither club has been able to confirm or deny the switch.
