Rob Plans Talks With Family & Friends

The Whites are keen to see their highly-rated skipper pen a new deal at Elland Road, helping them to fend off mounting interest from afar.

The Scotland international still has a year left to run on his current contract, but speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League refuses to go away.

Snodgrass is refusing to read too much into the transfer gossip, but concedes that he will have to speak with those closest to him before deciding where his long-term future will lie.

"Of course, I'll sit down with the (management) team and speak about things and try and move further forward," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"But I've got another year left, that's what people are forgetting and they think I'm going to leave because my contract is up. But that's not the case.

"I can't sit here and say I'm doing this decision for myself. It's never really been about me; I've just come down here and signed a contract and played for Leeds United and got on with it.

"But now I need to sit down with my family - the people who matter most - and try and see where the next step is.

"I've a year left and if nothing comes about, I'll be here at Leeds United and hopefully be part of what will be a successful promotion season.

"It's the end of the season and we'll take a break a little bit. The club will be trying to get their signings in as well and I know Neil Warnock has got his ball rolling already and he's trying to sign a few and you'll see them come up over the next few weeks."

While Leeds are hoping Snodgrass will still be on their books next season, manager Neil Warnock has revealed that he will not be looking to turn Paul Robinson's loan from Bolton into a permanent stay.

"He had a slight stiff muscle but I saw the Leigh Bromby injury last week and I felt it wasn't right to play him," he said in the wake of Leeds' 2-1 defeat to Leicester on the final day of the Championship season.

"I don't think I'll be taking him next season and if that's the case then I didn't want him getting injured in a nothing game. I played young Zac (Thompson) in the middle and Pughy (Danny Pugh) had to fill in at left-back for one game."
