Ridsdale 'Banned' By Bates

Ridsdale says Bates told him he was no longer welcome at the club during a confrontation in the chairman's suite immediately after Cardiff's 1-0 win.

Bates turned on Ridsdale as soon as he walked into his suite after the final whistle because he was angry with him jumping up in the directors' box to celebrate Willo Flood's late winner.

Ridsdale, Cardiff's executive deputy chairman, claims Bates told him his behaviour was inappropriate and that he was to stay away.

"I was told that I was no longer welcome at Elland Road today or any time in the future," said Ridsdale, who was forced to quit as Leeds chairman in 2003.

"I asked what I had done and Ken said he didn't like my behaviour during the game. I am now going home to have a nice glass of wine."
