Carson was in goal with a back four of Kelly, Duberry, Butler and Pugh. The midfield were Cadamarteri on the right, Wright, Bakke and trialist Steve Guppy on the left.

Ricketts and Joachim started upfront against a Bodens side who were ten games into their own domestic season.

The opening goal came on 19 minutes when Duberry sent a cross into the centre for Ricketts to get in front of the keeper to head home.

Joachim and Ricketts combined well together up front, but it was not until the 88th minute when Deane, a half time sub for Ricketts, tapped home from close range after a cross by Richardson from the right.

Lennon (Achilles) and Carlisle (thigh strain) were the only players on the tour not to feature due to slight injuries picked up on the heavy pitches in Sweden.
