Restrictions Imposed For Gillingham Game

The club have imposed restrictions on ticket sales for the final match of the 2007-08 League One campaign following the controversial end to their game with Ipswich Town a year ago.

The 1-1 draw was held up for half-an-hour after fans spilled onto the pitch, and the invasion led to 28 supporters receiving banning orders.

Leeds' fight to reach the League One play-offs could still be in the balance ahead of the Gillingham game, and the club have announced that tickets in Elland Road's North Stand will only be available to season ticket holders and affiliates of their official members club.

Season ticket holders and members will be entitled to purchase an additional ticket for the Kop, but the club have warned that they will be held responsible for the conduct of the person alongside them.

United are also planning to prevent fans from using the first four rows of both the East and South Stands.

Chief executive Shaun Harvey said: "The corresponding fixture last season was marred by a pitch invasion by supporters that halted the second half for a period of 30 minutes while the pitch was cleared to allow the game to be finished safely.

"The club are keen to avoid a repeat of the totally unacceptable scenes."
