Reid: Second Best All Over

It was The Foxes' first Premiership success of the campaign and they thoroughly deserved their success against a strangely lethargic Leeds side.

As Reid commented, his side "were never at the races," with his defence - including Brazil World Cup-winner Roque Junior making his debut - all at sea.

"Before the game I told the players what to expect, but they played to their strengths and we didn't do that at all ," said Reid.

"They showed the desire to go and win the ball and from our point of view we should have showed our desire to defend it better. That's basics and that's what is so disappointing.

"We just didn't compete. We weren't up for it. There has to be a desire to win a football match and we didn't even show that in order just to compete.

"I thought we had turned the corner.

"You can accept getting beat, but not after a performance like that.

"We lacked attitude and desire and we now need to get back on the training ground and get going again."

Reid refused to pin the blame on Roque Junior, despite the fact he only had two days' training with his new team-mates after arriving in England on Friday following two World Cup qualifying games in South America with Brazil.

"You can see he's got quality, but it was a baptism of fire," commented Reid on the centre-back.

"You look at decisions like that and sometimes you think 'have I made a mistake?' But you can't blame one man because all over the pitch we were second best from one to 11."
