Reid Okay....For Today

Peter Reid and McKenzie held what the latter termed "amicable discussions" in the bar of a local hotel in Halifax. Before leaving via a laundry exit to avoid the media, Reid said pointedly: "I'm going to be manager of this club a long time."

These could be famous last words if McKenzie listens to pressure from major shareholders of the financially ravaged club.

No official statement was produced by the club which only adds to the intrigue surrounding the days events. One only thinks that an announcement has to be made to the Stock Exchange before everyone else is informed.

If they dispense with Reid, Leeds are likely to turn to their former centre-half and youth director, Paul Hart, now in charge of Nottingham Forest.
