Reid: Leeds Shaded It

Leeds meagre haul of only two points from three games has already permutated predictions of another season of struggle.

But Reid remains upbeat that his side only needs a rub of the green to kick-start their season.

Reid said: "I'd be concerned if we weren't playing well.

"If we had taken our pre-season form into this season then you would see a worried manager, but I am pleased the way the players are playing.

"It's just a matter of getting that little bit of quality, or that little bit of luck to get us a goal.

"If you want to take plusses out of this game then no goals against means you don't lose.

"If you keep doing that then you are going to win football matches.

"We've got Middlesbrough before the international break and it's going to be difficult.

"But like I said before, all in all I am pleased with the players because they are working hard and tonight the football was a lot better than it was at the weekend against Spurs.

"Down the sides we created chances and we defended well against a good team. A draw was a fair result - although I thought we just shaded it."

Jody Morris and Ian Harte both picked up knee injuries which makes them doubtful for Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough.

However, Reid believes both will be fit for the trip to The Riverside Stadium.

Last night's attendance of 34,721 was the lowest for a Premiership game at Elland Road since 34,122 turned up for a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on 19 September, 1999.

The reserves are in action tonight when they play their first home game of the season against Sunderland at Belle Vue, Wakefield (7pm).
