"It's a club that I would want to manage but it's something that will be sorted out after the final game," said Reid.

Mark Viduka's 88th minute goal at Highbury meant United live to fight another season in the Premiership even though the victory handed the Premiership title to arch rivals Manchester United.

"I'm just delighted with the result for us, that's the most important thing. The three points mean a lot to the club," Reid said after the 3-2 victory.

"To get it here, against a quality side, is even more pleasing. I had a good time at Sunderland but that's history and it's just great to come back here and be involved in such a smashing match.

"When Alan Wiley blew the final whistle, there was a lot of relief. This was a crucial result, for me personally and the football club. It was a great team performance."
