Ref defends red card decision

United's Australian striker was controversially dismissed for what Barry claimed was a deliberate act of violent conduct on Gillingham player-manager Andy Hessenthaler.

"I was in a very good position and Mark came in with a very high arm and in my opinion it was an act of violent conduct. It was extremely dangerous," said Barry.

"I was very confident from two to three yards away that I was in the perfect position to make the decision."
