Redknapp Set For Harte Attack

The left-back is thought to be out of favour at Leeds, he was relegated to the reserve side which played a friendly against Harrogate Town last night, and it seems he will not be in Peter Reid's plans for Sunday's Premiership match against Newcastle.

Redknapp is in the market for a player in Harte’s position as he is without the services of Matthew Taylor. The former West Ham chief has been linked with a move for Argentinean defender Juan Pablo Sorin but admitted he is also interested in Harte.

"I do like Ian Harte but at the moment I don’t know if anything is going to happen there," Redknapp told the Yorkshire Post. "I am looking around at the moment for a left-back and seeing what comes up. I have not yet spoken to Leeds or even to Peter Reid, who is a good friend of mine, but I would imagine he (Harte) is on decent money at the club and they would want a fee for him."

With Reid looking to raise funds to make his own moves in the transfer market, Leeds might be interested in a fee for player whose form has suffered along with the team’s in the last two seasons. However, Redknapp warned that money could be a stumbling block in the deal.

Redknapp is keen to add more players to his squad as Pompey prepare for life in the Premiership.
