Raphinha's father comments on potential Leeds exit

Raphinha's father has insisted that the Leeds United star is 'calm' about his future amid links to La Liga giants Barcelona.

The Leeds forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou in recent months due to his impressive form at both club and international level. The 25-year-old scored 11 goals as the Whites secured Premier League survival in 2021/22, and has scored a solid three goals in seven appearances for the Brazilian senior squad.

Speaking to Sport about the rumours surrounding his son's future, Raphinha's father stated that there are 'possibilities' but ultimately the player's future will be decided by the player himself:

“There are possibilities, but these possibilities involve three parties: the interested club, the current one and the player.

“Raphinha is calm because he has a contract and all the options depend on him. What he knows is what has come out in the press, nothing more."

90min understand that Leeds United are open to letting the Brazilian leave Elland Road this summer, but only if their £50m valuation is roughly met. Barcelona were initially of the belief that they could poach the forward for a fee in the region of £40m.

Raphinha has told Leeds United that he will not be signing a new deal at the club - his current deal runs for another two seasons - however, so the player is expected to leave eventually.

We understand that Barcelona have room in their squad for the forward as they are not keen to keep hold of Adama Traore who, after a bright start to his Camp Nou loan, fell out of favour with manager Xavi.
