Plenty Of Competition For Places

The Whites welcome back skipper Dominic Matteo, while Michael Bridges, David Batty and Seth Johnson are all looking for places.

Matteo has shrugged off the ankle problem which kept him out of the last three games and he is likely to come in at left-back.

Reid told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "We tried a few things on Wednesday and it was a good opportunity to have a look at some of the lads.

"The players did all right and we're definitely going to have plenty of competition for places, which is what I'm after. David Batty did really well considering it was his first start for so long and there were a few plusses.

"Bridgey did well. He's worked very hard to get to this stage and I was pleased with his efforts.
"We know what he's all about and clearly the fans do too. The reception he got when he came on was absolutely unbelievable, a standing ovation, and that shows what the supporters think of him."

Gary Kelly is expected to be fit after leaving the game early on Wednesday after sustaining a gash over his right eye and Mark Viduka is also expected to return to partner Alan Smith after sitting out the cup tie.

Teenager Aaron Lennon could be back on the bench with Lamine Sakho and Jermaine Pennant, who was ineligible for the penalty shoot-out triumph, both likely to return to the starting line-up.
