Peter Reid - putting the smile back

The sale of Harry Kewell and a transfer kitty from the board have given Reid a bit of cash to play with and Leeds have already been linked with Julan Gray, Kleberson and Nikos Dabizas.

"I will be making signings, money has been made available and I am actively working on a few moves and hopefully we will have some good news for the Leeds fans who have been fantastically patient over the past year," Reid told the club's official site.

"There have been a lot of disappointments with players leaving recently, so hopefully I can bring in players who will certainly improve the squad and help us win football matches next season.

"I think there's a few positions that need strengthening, I want to strengthen right through the squad, a centre-half is a must and a midfielder too, and if you look at us upfront we've got Bridges coming back, Smithy and Viduka, but you've got to look up there as well to cover yourself.

"It has been difficult in the last few weeks because of all the uncertainty, but it's now my decision who comes and goes and that's pleasing."
