Ormsby, who captained Leeds in the 1980s, takes over from Simon Houghton who was in charge for three years.

Former centre-half Ormsby started his career with Aston Villa before joining Leeds.

After retiring from the professional game, he has remained in football both as a player, manager and coach, enjoying a brief spell as manager of League of Ireland side Waterford Town before moving back to Yorkshire and becoming involved in the coaching of youth players.

Recently, he has been working for Leeds United, running their local youth academy, and coaching at several age levels.
