He said: "We are here to work hard. It's not a holiday. It is all about being together and preparing for the season. We've got three games against teams who are in mid-season so they will be match fit and will provide good tests."
The squad includes new signings Enoch Showunmi, Andy Robinson and Alan Sheehan, along with Canadian trialist striker Marcus Haber and veteran Scottish defender Paul Telfer.
Especially keen to impress back in their homeland will be Sheehan and Jonathon Douglas.
