No Losers For Milner

The 17-year-old midfielder said he will happily do some extra work if legs tire against Peterborough after the marathon cup tie went to extra time and penalties.

He joked it was the least he could do after his Leeds teammates ended Town’s Carling Cup hopes on Wednesday.

Milner said on www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk: “It turned out well for me because Leeds got through but Swindon didn’t really lose the game, if you see what I mean.

“Swindon proved to themselves and to the Leeds fans that they are a very good team and I’m sure the lads took a lot of heart from the display.

“I was talking to a few of the Leeds players after the game and they were all very complimentary about Swindon.

“Paul Robinson has saved us with a great header but there’s no doubt Swindon were very unlucky in the end.

“I just want to get back in the team and with my fresh legs, give everything against Peterborough, and I’ll do some of the work of others if any of the lads start to tire. They were great the other night and there’s every reason to feel positive.”

Defeat may have been hard to swallow but the blow is expected to be brightened by a share of the gate receipts from Elland Road, possibly as much as £70k from a near 30,000 crowd.
