Viking Chairman Ole Rugland told Aftenbladet newspaper: "We have had a dialogue with Leeds and the case is now with them.
"The suggested deal all depends on the timing of the transfer. The ball is now in Leeds' court and they still have time to answer us."
If he does join, he is unlikely to meet up with the Leeds squad until after the Norwegian season ends in October.
