Morgan was making his home league debut for The Dragons against Bournemouth.
Elland Road boss Peter Reid has been keeping close tabs on the 18-year-old since being alerted to his potential by Racecourse manager Denis Smith, who said the youngster's performance was one of the positives to come out of the 1-0 defeat by Bournemouth.
"I wasn't at all surprised by his performance," he added. "He's got the range of passes, he is strong in the air and he's quicker than you think. There are still elements of his game that need to be improved but he knows that as well as me and we are working on them."
The Wrexham boss said Morgan's display, coupled with that of fellow defender Shaun Pejic, 20, and teenage midfielder Mark Jones augured well for the future.
