More Signings Due This Summer

The manager goes on holiday today and on his return is expecting to be able to add more signings to follow those of Danny Pugh, Clark Carlisle, Julian Joachim and Paul Butler.

Blackwell is known to be in advanced negotiations with a number of other players who are keen to join Leeds.

He is looking at least one other striker, a keeper and is also hoping to get a couple of new midfield additions.

"We're still looking for another five players at least, and we're confident we can do that. Some of them will be done in July, and some will be squad players as well because one way or another over the past year we have lost what I call our back-up." Blackwell said on the official Leeds website.

"There was no strength in depth last season, when we had a few injuries that was it, we were struggling to put 11 players out at times. You play more games in the First Division and you can't account for injuries, so I want to make sure we are prepared.

"Slowly things are coming together, Rome was not built in a day."
