Right-back Simon Madden was denied after a curling shot hit the crossbar from 25-yards and midfielder Robert Bayly also did the same.
Mark Wilberforce produced a couple of fine saves to deny Boro's Tom Craddock and Danny Graham, whilst Madden also cleared a shot off the line.
