Matt Chance To Shine

Eddie Gray said he could turn to youth after losing Lucas Radebe for at least the next two months.

Kilgallon, who does not turn 20 for another two weeks, has made just four substitute appearances since making his debut in the UEFA Cup 13 months ago.

But Gray has faith in the home-grown talent as he again seems set to turn his back on the loan players signed by former boss Peter Reid over the summer.

'I'm gutted for Lucas,' said Gray. 'It's disappointing for everybody because Lucas is a top player. You're hoping, with every game he plays, he doesn't get injured and unfortunately it happened.

'It gives me something to think about. It's always going to be a big dilemma when somebody like Lucas gets injured because he is a big player.

'We will have to wait and see what we are going to do, but we've a good young player (Kilgallon) at this club and it might just be his time.'

Kilgallon recently spent three months on loan at West Ham.
