Marques had agreed a two year contract but his move was held up whilst Leeds waited for medical records.
International clearance still needs to arrive and therefore Marques is unavailable for tomorrow's pre-season friendly at Barnsley.
Born in Angola, Marques began his career with Benfica, then had spells in Germany with Hertha Berlin and Stuttgart, before returning to the Portuguese SuperLiga with Maritimo last season.
