Marcelo Bielsa set for Bolivia talks after Leeds exit

Marcelo Bielsa is set to hold talks with the Bolivian FA over becoming their national side's new manager.

The Argentine was relieved from his duties as Leeds United boss at the back end of February following a dismal run of results, with 90min first revealing that Bielsa would leave and be replaced by American coach Jesse Marsch.

And Bielsa could be in line for a return to management just a month or so since leaving Elland Road, with Bolivian FA president Fernando Costa confirming that they will soon hold official talks with the 66-year-old.

"I won't deny that we are in touch with him. We have not yet had a meeting, but we are close to speaking with him," Costa said.

"We are speaking with a number of coaches, including national team managers, and listening to what they have to offer.

"Once we have a sheaf of proposals we will evaluate them. It is important to know how much money we have available for our national teams."

Bolivia are on the hunt for a successor to Cesar Farias after failing to qualify for the World Cup for a seventh straight tournament.

Bielsa has plenty of experience as a manager at international level, famously leading his native Argentina between 1998 and 2004, while he also guided Chile to the last 16 of the 2010 World Cup.
