Tottenham Hotspur have followed up their long-time interest in Lennon with a firm offer and the teenager will join them on July 1 for an undisclosed amount.

Lennon, who became the youngest ever Premiership player when he featured against Spurs at White Hart Lane in August 2003, made his first lengthy run in the side after Christmas last year.

The 18-year-old Chapeltown born midfielder scored on his full debut at Sunderland on Boxing Day in a 3-2 win and United head of football administration Ali Royston today said: "We feel we have a good price for a player at this early stage of his career."
