But Leeds' top scorer was hoping to be given the all-clear this morning after two days of treatment.

The 24-year-old will play at Brunton Park if Gary McAllister is convinced about the reliability of his ankle, but Tresor Kandol and Anthony Elding are waiting and ready to step in should he fail to prove his fitness.

McAllister said: "It was plain to see that he wasn't 100 per cent the other night. I took a gamble and barring a fantastic save from (Kieren) Westwood, he would have got us a goal. I've got a tough decision to make. He's responding to treatment and it's settled again but it's a late call."
