Leeds V Brighton at Elland Road - Match Preview

Trio strengthen Whites

Leeds' three summer signings, Luke Murphy, Noel Hunt and Matt Smith, are all expected to be included in the squad for the game against Brighton.

Midfielder Murphy, a #1million signing from Crewe, and former Reading striker Hunt are expected to start at Elland Road, with 6ft 6in forward Smith, recruited from Oldham, among the substitutes.

Teenage defender Sam Byram will play no part as he is still recovering from a hip problem which affected him late last season.

Striker El-Hadji Diouf, who continues to play catch-up with his fitness, is suspended anyway along with Jamaica international Rudy Austin following their dismissals against Brighton in last season's final home game.

David Lopez is set to feature for Brighton.

Despite only playing 45 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Norwich during pre-season, the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder, who signed a new one-year deal this week, could be in contention to start.

Manager Oscar Garcia has no fresh injury concerns for his first league game in charge as striker Craig Mackail-Smith continues his rehabilitation from an ankle injury which could keep him out until September.

New signing Adam Chicksen may also be considered after the left-back joined on a three-year deal from MK Dons during the summer.
