Leeds United Future In Doubt

The appeal was lodged at the High Court at about 3pm today, just an hour before the deadline for creditors to challenge the deal to return the club to Mr Bates' control.

He has previously said Leeds face liquidation if anyone attempted to block his arrangement to buy the club back from its administrators, KPMG.

HMRC was the only likely challenger to the arrangement after losing out on over £7m in unpaid tax but it had refused to comment at any point during Leeds's controversial slide into administration with debts of over £35m.

A further hearing is scheduled to held at the High Court on Friday.
