Leeds United 3 Wolves 1

The hosts took the lead in the first half when Max Gradel smashed home from 25-yards to cap an impressive opening from the winger.

But they were pegged back on the stroke of half-time when Matt Jarvis' free-kick eluded everyone and ended up in the back of the net.

Leeds soon restored their lead, though, when Lloyd Sam netted with just three minutes of the second half gone and made sure of the game when Bradley Johnson struck late on.

Boss Simon Grayson handed a start to new signing Alex Bruce in defence but Robert Snodgrass and Billy Paynter remained on the sidelines with injuries.

Leeds take a side to Wakefield on Tuesday before opening their Championship game against Derby next Saturday.
