Bruce Craven, a former physio and fitness coach at Elland Road, died tragically through the disease six weeks after being diagnosed.

His sudden death came as a shock to everyone at the club and to honour his memory, while raising awareness of the risks of Melanoma, the players held a dinner in his memory at Elland Road and to also raise money.

After the dinner the Leeds players commissioned specially designed embossed Melanoma wristbands and paid for the initial production costs themselves and officially endorsed the bands by wearing them at the first home game of the season.
