Leeds Ladies Start Season

The game will be new manager Julie Chipchase's first competitive game for Leeds United Ladies.

Julie commented on leedsunited.com: " I am very pleased with how pre-season has gone, all the girls have done very well and worked hard. I wish I could pick all the players for the squad for Charlton, but I can’t so it will be a hard job.

"We now have cover for every position, so it up to the players who play on Sunday to perform and keep their shirts, knowing we have quality players not only on the bench but players who haven't made it into the squad for this game.

"Charlton are a good team who have strengthened their squad over the summer, they got off to a good start last Sunday beating Birmingham. It will be a tough competitive game, but one that I am looking forward to."

New signing Irish International Grainne Kierans is looking forward to playing against her old team: "I have settled in well and all the girls have made me welcome, when signed I asked when we played Charlton. I am now a Leeds player so all I am bothered about on Sunday is Leeds picking up three points, it should be a good game as Charlton are a good side but Leeds have made quite a few signings and they have a new manager so the team has a different look this season."
