Leeds Fail Appeal In Points Bid

The club was docked the points on the eve of the League One season for reportedly breaking Football League rules on insolvency.

Leeds fans hoped a four-day hearing in Central London would see the points restored, putting the club in second place in League One and securing automatic promotion to the Championship.

But the club failed to convince a three-man panel the League had acted unfairly when docking the points.

The decision sees Leeds stay in sixth place in League One and they must now hope to secure promotion via a play-off place.
