Leeds United chief Peter Ridsdale has revealed that the club are close to sorting out Lee Bowyer's contract situation following weeks of speculation that he could be set for a shock departure.

With club such as Liverpool believed to be showing a keen interest in developments, the club are keen to resolve the matter quickly as his present deal runs out next year.
