Leeds United were up against Wolves at Elland Road. The Leeds players had one more try to impress boss Simon Grayson.

The match was underway and Leeds were keeping possession of the ball very well when they had a free kick on the edge of the penalty area.

Neil Kilkenny put it in and Bradley Johnson just headed it over the bar. With only 11 minutes played, Leeds were on top form.

A couple of minutes later, Michael Knightly's cross just went wide of the post and Wolves were looking dangerous.

With 20 minutes played, Leeds had another free kick. Kilkenny took it, crossed it and Luciano Becchio was there for the header that Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey had to make a save for.

Soon after, a Wolves mistake cost them the ball as Becchio and then Johnson nearly scored. His shot just went wide and United nearly lead.

Minutes later Leeds' sloppy defence makes Matt Jarvis one-on-one with Kasper Schmeichal who makes a great save.

With 9 minutes to half time, Leeds have a corner. Kilkenny takes, Wolves clear and Gradel is there on the edge of the area and smashes it in the roof of the net. 1-0 Leeds!

In first half injury time, Wolves have a free kick. Jarvis puts it in, nobody touches it and it goes in past the 'keeper, 1-1. The whistle blows and that's it for the first half.

The second half starts and Leeds get all fired up and are on the break. Lloyd Sam dribbles past a few defenders and bangs it in the back of the net. Leeds 2-1 up.

54 minutes played and Becchio goes on the run, he has a far out shot but Hennessey saves it. A minute later, Jonny Howson gets one on one with the Wovles keeper who makes a fine save.

12 minutes to go and after lots of Leeds subs, Wolves carry the ball through the midfield and Kevin Doyle turns, no more defenders to take on and has a shot on goal. Shane Higgs makes an important save.

A few minutes to go and Leeds have yet another free kick. Kilkenny steps up to take it, crosses it in and Johnson puts the ball home. Game over for Wolves, and 3-1 United.

That's it, full time at Elland Road. Its been a fantastic match between two very good teams.

Next stop for United Elland Road again for their first match of the new season against Derby County. But today it's Leeds on top who beat Wolves 3-1!
