Lamine Relishing Mills Combat

The new hero of Elland Road admits he is looking forward to his duel with former team-mate Danny Mills.

Sakho feels rather humbled by the way in which the people of Leeds have taken to him so soon and dearly wants to repay them now by putting one over on Mills and Middlesbrough.

"The fans have been great to me," he told the Yorkshire Post.

"Now I have to make sure I perform well in every game to make sure I keep them on my side. When I arrived, I did not train a lot with Danny Mills. I played with him for the two games in Dublin but I did not train much with him because I came back to France to sort my affairs out. But I have heard good things about him and everyone at Leeds has told me he is a good player. He might feel he has a point to prove against Leeds and he will be looking to embarrass Peter Reid. But it is my duty too to cause him problems. I think the manager and supporters will be happy with me if I can do that.

"I know he has a reputation for being tough but I like playing against people who are like that. They tend to commit themselves. And the harder they play, the easier it is for me."

Reid has been surprised and delighted with his loan signing from Marseille. The exciting winger has settled out on the left flank of the United line-up and the manager even believes there is much more to come once he gets to grips with the pace of the English game.

"This is the first time I have been out of France although I always wanted to come to England, especially to such a big club," he said.

"I have tried to settle quickly and in the first few games I have to find the rhythm of the games which is very different from in France.

"When I got onto the plane after the pre-season tournament in Dublin and the fans all chanted my name, it was amazing. It was the best moment I have experienced."

Hopefully that moment will be bettered at The Riverside today with a first win of the season for The Whites.
