King: Milner A Wonderful Talent

Swindon boss Andy King is however warning supporters not to expect 'miracles' from Leeds United's wonderkid.

Peter Reid has assisted his old friend King by agreeing to let Milner go to the County Ground. He is set to make his debut against Brighton tomorrow, but King said: "James is a wonderful talent with terrific ability but he's only 17.

"Don't expect miracles from him. I don't want too much heaped on his shoulders.

"We have a football match to play against Brighton tomorrow and we have to perform as a team
.
"I don't want it becoming the Milner show.

"He will be part of an equation and one which I hope will bring us success.

"James wasn't on my target 'list' as such because I didn't think he'd be available.

"I threw a question at Peter Reid and didn't get the answer I was expecting, a 'yes'.

"What I actually asked him was whether he had anyone at Leeds who I could have. He said did I have anyone in mind and I said what about young Milner?

"Peter then spoke to the lad, he was keen and here he is."

Milner is quite happy to put his Premiership ambitions on hold for a month in order to further his football education and become a better player.

He said: "I jumped at the chance to come here.

"I know Swindon are a decent team and play good football.

"Hopefully this will be a good move for me and help me develop as a player.

"The idea is to get some first team games under my belt and it's a step up from the reserves at Leeds."

Swindon currently lie ninth in the table after two wins and two draws from their opening five games.

Meanwhile, former Elland Road trialist Sebastian Rostoe has also joined Swindon on trial.

The Cannes midfielder spent a fortnight at Elland Road, but no deal was agreed.
