Keane warned over fitness

"Robbie can be fitter and sharper, he has not been long back from injury and I'm sure David O'Leary will be delighted he scored and got another game under his belt, Leeds will be wanting him back and scoring goals," said Eire boss Mick McCarthy after his sides 2-0 victory over Russia earlier this week.

"It was a terrific goal and he worked hard but he needs more games and needs to be fitter.

"Robbie has had his name etched on one of the seats but the World Cup is going to be hot and humid and players need to be playing first-team football."

Meahwhile Keane's team-mate Seth Johnson has revealed how fitness levels at Derby County and those at his new club, do not match up.

"I didn't realise how unfit I was until I had been training with Leeds in my first couple of weeks there," he said.
