The race to sign Mark Viduka is reaching boiling point according to reports from across the football world.

Middlesbrough remain favourites to land the player but several other clubs, now including Juventus, are considering bids for him.

Leeds were today waiting on confirmation of Juventus' interest. The Italian giants are reportedly set to table a £5m bid in the hope of snatching him from under the noses of Middlesbrough according to the YEP.

Viduka's agent is already in talks with the Teessiders, but sources in Italy suggest that Juventus are set to offer a more lucrative package.

Newly-promoted Palermo are also alledged to be interested in a striker ahead of their return to Serie A.

The big Aussie is the highest earner on the Elland Road books and his departure would save the club in excess of £3m a year.
