Jones Committed To Hibs

"At no instance have I indicated to the manager, or the chairman, that I want to leave this football club," Jones stated after turning up without notice to address the usual Thursday press conference at Easter Road.

"Not once. I know that was printed in a newspaper yesterday, but that's not the truth. I didn't know this interview was going in the paper. The first time I knew about it I was walking down Princes Street and it was on the billboard.

"This is old news if I'm being truthful. I know there's been speculation in the papers for a while now about my future. The last time I spoke to you all I committed my future to the club, and that hasn't changed.

"I've come in today just to more or less put the record straight, to be honest. I'm very happy here, it's as simple as that. I'm very proud to be the captain of this football club. As long as I'm here I'll give everything I can and have got. That will not change from the past to the future."

But Hibs have a history of selling their more prominent players and the club would be tempted to part company with Jones if Leeds meet their asking price. Hibs are believed to value the 6'7" defender at around £1m.
