Johnson deal in the balance

The Leeds midfielder was on Teesside on Friday to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms after a fee between the two clubs had been agreed.

United have admitted complications had delayed the switch, although talks are continuing and Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren is still confident of signing Johnson.

He told the 'Boro website: "We're still in negotiations regarding Seth Johnson. The situation should be clearer by Monday morning."
