The player discussed the possibility after Crystal Palace's 1-0 win at Preston at the weekend and Warnock admits he has left it in Freedman's hands whether he goes or not.
Warnock said: "I had a chat with Dougie and left it up to him really. He is hoping that we are going to get a testimonial sorted out in the summer for him. He came on on Saturday and his experience just helped us in those last few minutes so there's no rush from my point of view, it's just down to Dougie."
