The new eircom League campaign is set to kick off in mid-March and Drogheda, who have faced Aston Villa and Manchester City at their United Park home in the past, are keen to invite Leeds for a high-profile match shortly before the season start.
Drogheda is Leeds full-back Gary Kelly's hometown.
