Instability Is Unsettling - Viduka

Viduka said in today's Sun newspaper: “The situation the club finds itself in is impossible to ignore and it is taking its toll on the players.

“Every day there is something negative in the newspapers or on TV about the club’s financial position and, of course, the instability is unsettling.

“It makes it difficult to keep up team spirit and to focus fully on the job we need to do as players to get ourselves out of trouble.

“Things have deteriorated a lot in the last year or so and it has become very difficult.

“Look, the table doesn’t lie and, although we’ve been a bit unlucky in some games, we have to accept that we are where we are because we haven’t been performing.

“There are so many new players in the team it has been very hard for us to gel.

“But newcomers like Roque Junior, Salomon Olembe and Lamine Sakho are quality players and they are beginning to settle in and make their mark.

“It’s way too early for people to say we’ll go down. There’s a lot of football to be played this season and we’ve got to remain positive, stick together and make things happen for ourselves.

“Hopefully that will start against Arsenal. It’s a massive match for us but in our position every game is huge.”
