He was prevented from completing a three-month loan move before Saturday's 1-0 victory at Burnley due to 'technicalities', although he watched the game from the stand.
"Rob came with us to Burnley and hopefully we can sort one or two things out," said Kevin Blackwell.
"He's the right age (25), fits the mould and has a great strike record so there's a lot of positives.
"We couldn't do the loan deal in time last week so let's hope we do it soon."
