Hodgson Has A Dig

Hodgson, now manager at Norwegian club Viking, is not impressed with the way both clubs have conducted transfer negotiations for two of his players.

Stoke signed striker Hannes Sigurdsson from Viking on a three-month loan with a view to a permanent deal in January, while Leeds' bid for defender Brede Hangeland collapsed.

"I'm surprised by Stoke and Leeds," Hodgson said. "They are enticing players by telling them how big their clubs are and offering huge wages but they refuse to pay fair compensation. I ask myself how badly these clubs really want our players."
