The 27-year-old striker is Northern Ireland's all-time record scorer with 19 goals and he will replace Aston Villa defender Aaron Hughes as skipper for the night.

Irish boss Lawrie Sanchez has nothing but praise for Healy and said: "David is a Premiership-class finisher. He is up there with the best of them. His problem is getting to that level and proving it. I have no doubt that if gets into the top league he will get goals there.

"He has not just scored against moderate teams but against the likes of England and Germany.

"To win 50 caps shows great commitment and is a big achievement. There is not a great amount in turning up for Northern Ireland beyond wanting to play for the team. There is not great financial recompense.

"You cannot go to your club manager and say you have just made your debut for Northern Ireland, so how about doubling my wage. Maybe you could if it was England.

"So you have to give credit to the players who have accumulated a lot of caps. They just want to play for the shirt and the country. It is a big ask but David is capable of getting to 100 caps."
